PLEJ OVERVIEW

Our members – the large jurisdictions that combined run elections for more than 65% of Americans –  are the most visible and often the most targeted for disruption. Their responsibilities are complex, encompassing election law, public relations, cybersecurity, personnel management, and logistics—all before the votes are even counted. Despite their size, scope, and importance, though, they often face critical resource and capacity gaps.

Since our founding in 2022, PLEJ has focused on four core strategies: facilitating peer-to-peer engagement, uplifting crowd-sourced, nonpartisan resources, promoting retention and development, and elevating the voices of election administrators. We have seen that proactive, targeted skill-building among election administrators can have a multiplicative impact in crucial moments for our democracy.
